Caithness gym enters 70 into Loch Ness Beast Race

15th August 2016 from John O'Groat Journal Online

Seventy members of the Hamilton Optimum Training gym will take part in the Loch Ness Beast Race.

The challenge will see them tackle a 10 kilometre obstacle course along the banks of the loch, taking them through dense forest, undergrowth, rough dirt tracks and a dip in its waters. It will be held on Saturday, September 3.

The group is hoping through sponsorship and donations to raise £5000 to be shared equally between the Laurandy Day Centre in Wick, Dunbeath Day Care Centre and Home-Start Caithness.

The gym, run by local fitness instructor Kris Hamilton, has had a team taking part in the race for the past few years but this is by far the largest number of people to have entered.

Their effort has a JustGiving page at where people can donate to their cause.
