Caithness and North Sutherland is well connected throughout Scotland and the UK with good air, road, and rail links.
The area benefits from its own airport operated by Highlands and Islands Airports with a good spread of UK domestic and onward international flights.
The railway north of Inverness serves Wick and Thurso, as well as settlements en route, providing passenger trains and a freight service which is primed for significant growth.
The A9 trunk road connects the central belt of Scotland to the region’s industrial and population centres, ending up at the Scrabster ferry terminal, the route to EMEC and the Orkney Islands. The area has regular all year round ferry links to Orkney.
